Basics of Stretching

Stretching is a form of exercise we utilize to improve flexibility.  Tightness in muscle groups can change the dynamics of our motion and cause pain and impair normal function.  At Advanced Physical Therapy we will help you identify the tight muscles and learn the proper way to stretch as we develop a conditioning plan unique to you.


Benefits of Stretching

Stretching has many benefits if done daily, the most common being:

  • Increased flexibility
  • Increased range of motion
  • Improved ability to do daily and physical activities
  • Increase blood flow to muscles
  • Decrease risk of injury
